A Boost in the Right Direction – Empowerment for 2012

With the new year comes a brand new chance to improve your life and the way you feel about it. Most of us lead busy lives, where we rarely get a moment to breathe, let alone take the time to take the first steps to empowering ourselves. The main hurdle most of us have to cross when it comes to empowerment in 2012 is that we simply need to give ourselves permission…permission to find meaning in our lives, permission to be a whole individual, and permission to take the time to revitalize ourselves.

How to give yourself the gift of empowerment in 2012. The journey to empowering yourself this year starts with realizing that you’re worth it. If you’re finding that you’re lacking a bit in the self confidence department, then you need to sit down with yourself and have a bit of heart to heart. Also, assess just how in control of your life you really are. If you’ve relinquished control to someone else, or have lost it somewhere along the way over the years, then decide a course of action on how you’re going to get it back.

A key factor in gaining empowerment is getting rid of the negative energy, thoughts, feelings, and people in your life. This is so very important because, without a solid and positive foundation, you won’t ever be able to grasp your true self worth or build upon a plan that gets you back behind the wheel of your life.

Some simple steps to gaining empowerment in 2012. There are a few simple ways in which you can get on the right track to empower yourself, here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Pay careful attention to how you speak to vice versa. When you interact      with others, do you find yourself complaining or being negative, and/or do      the people to whom you are speaking react in the same manner? It’s often      to step outside ourselves for a brief moment, but doing so might just give      you a bit on insight into yourself and let you know what attitude      adjustments you need to make in order to achieve self empowerment.
  • Don’t be the martyr. If you’re constantly playing the victim or are the      martyr within your group of friends, then you need to acknowledge that      that behavior isn’t doing you any favors when it comes to taking control      and achieving empowerment. Sure, life will sometimes throw you curve balls      or things won’t turn out as you might have hoped, but don’t let that knock      you down or keep you down by allowing yourself to dwell upon it.
